I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah that Allah (AJ) guided us to this magnificent religion of Islam, guided us to the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and granted us a life in which to see these blessed jummah. The blessed jummah beyond imagination, the jummah before the Mawlid an-Nabi ﷺ and the holy month of Rabi’ Al-Awwal. A celebration throughout the universes, throughout the paradises. We pray that Allah (AJ) give us a life in which to see those nights, be dressed by the blessings of those nights and those days, inshaAllah.
Awliya Uplift Their Students to Teach Them About Themselves
Alhamdulillah, awliyaullah come into our life and lift us. When they lift us, they bring to life every holy hadith of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and Prophet ﷺ taught that who knows himself, will know his Lord.
مَنْ عَرَفَ نَفْسَهْ فَقَدْ عَرَفَ رَبَّهُ
“Man ‘arafa nafsahu faqad ‘arafa Rabbahu”
“Who knows himself, knows his Lord.” Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
One of the greatest gifts that Allah (AJ) can give by that uplifting is to have an understanding of yourself. What Allah (AJ) give to you of a sifat, that attribute that governs your wajud (being). What Allah (AJ) created you from that sifat, from that attribute of Allah (AJ). To know that reality is one of the greatest gifts. That’s the power of that guide, the ability to uplift and take you into that presence and that that guide is teaching you about yourself. All of the adab (manners) of the tariqah (spiritual path) comes to show that be grateful. Be grateful for whatever Allah (AJ) reveals to the servant about themself.
Less Than 1% of People Might Truly Know Themselves
It’s beyond imagination, with all the billions in creation, how none of them know anything about themself. And less than 1% of 1% of 1%, Allah (AJ) may reveal to them because of their struggle, their strive, their muhabbat, most important, their love. Their love will bring them to that reality and that is a tremendous gift. When Allah (AJ) says, ‘Whom We bestowed wisdom upon has been given a tremendous gift.’
﴾يُؤْتِي الْحِكْمَةَ مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَمَن يُؤْتَ الْحِكْمَةَ فَقَدْ أُوتِيَ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا ۗ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّا أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ ﴿٢٦٩
2:269 – “Yu’til Hikmata mai yasha o; wa mai yutal Hikmata faqad otiya khairan kaseeraa; wa maa yazzakkaru illaa ulul albaab.” (Surat Al-Baqarah)
“He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given abundant goodness. And none will remember except those of understanding.” (The Cow, 2:269)
Our Character is Based on the Attribute That Allah (AJ) Bestowed Upon Us
A gift that keeps giving and a gift that shows the depth and the reality in Divinely Presence. And that’s why the turuq (spiritual paths) come to teach the adab (manners). That any time you don’t show gratefulness, Allah (AJ) will be offended. This way is based on taking every reality and going deep, saying subhanAllah that Allah (AJ) revealed about myself a reality. My responsibility is to write it, look at it, meditate upon it and go into it, the depth of which cannot be understood. And on the character of that individual, based on the attribute that Allah (AJ) made their soul. And they become a servant to that attribute. As a reality, then they’ll find that reality throughout its creation. If Allah (AJ) dressed you from kareem (the generous) and made you to be a generous servant, everything about your reality is based on generosity. You’ll find the generosity in everything, if Allah (AJ) begin to open for it. It means then the character has to be based on good manners, good character.
Shaykhs of Ilm Kitab Take You to Divinely Presence
Understanding that these awliyaullah (saints) are shooting you like a rocket into that Divinely Presence, nothing from yourself. If for a moment you think it’s you, then you’re already like Fir’aun (Pharoah). ‘Wa anna rabbil ‘ala’, Fir’aun told Nabi Musa (as), ‘I am the Lord most high’, astaghfirullah al-Azeem.
﴾فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَى ﴿٢٤
79:24 – “Faqala ana rabbukumu al ‘Aala.” (Surat An-Nazi’at)
“And Fir’aun (Pharoah) said, I am your Lord All-Highest!” (Those Who Drag Forth, 79:24)
The path was based on negating yourself, I’m nothing, I’m nothing, I’m nothing. As soon as Allah (AJ) finds sincerity in that nothingness, give the isharat (sign) of the shaykh that lift. These shaykhs are from the people of Ilm al-Kitab, not the jinn. The jinn said, ‘I’ll lift but it’s going to take some time.’ One who has knowledge of the book, by the blink of your eye, you’re already in that presence. Because they’re swimming far beyond that. Whatever you think you’re achieving, they’re 1,000 darajats (stations) at least above. This is the greatness of this deen (religion).
﴾قَالَ الَّذِي عِندَهُ عِلْمٌ مِّنَ الْكِتَابِ أَنَا آتِيكَ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَن يَرْتَدَّ إِلَيْكَ طَرْفُكَ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ مُسْتَقِرًّا عِندَهُ قَالَ هَـٰذَا مِن فَضْلِ رَبِّي لِيَبْلُوَنِي أَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُ ۖ…﴿٤٠
27:40 – “Qala alladhee ‘indahu ‘ilmun minal kitabi ana ateeka bihi qabla an yartadda ilayka Tarfuka, falamma raahu mustaqirran ‘indahu qala hadha min fadli rabbi…” (Surat An-Naml)
“Said one who had knowledge of the book: “I will bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye!” Then when (Solomon) saw it placed firmly before him, he said: “This is by the Grace of my Lord!…” (The Ant, 27:40)
Reality of La Ilaha Illallah – Allah (AJ) Wants to Be Known
What we wanted to talk about today in the jummah, in the celebration of the Mawlid of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is the reality of La ilaha illallah Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ.
لَا إِلَهَ إلاَّ اللهُ مُحَمَّدٌا رَسُولْ الله
“La ilaha illallahu Muhammadun Rasulallah”
“There is no deity but Allah, Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
This is a secret of love and muhabbat. That when you write the kalima, la ilaha illallah, alif-lam-lam-hey, there is a waw. The ‘hey’ and the waw is the secret of Hu. So, everything about la ilaha illallah, that there is nothing but Allah (AJ). In its reality, its magnificence, there is nothing but Allah (AJ). And everything is a temporary manifestation. Allah (AJ) is going to manifest this creation to be known. He’s not manifesting because He likes tall buildings, not manifesting because He likes accounting. Not manifesting from anything of creation other than Allah (AJ) wants to be worshipped and wants to be known.
﴾وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ ﴿٥٦
51:56 – “Wa ma khalaqtu aljinna wal insa illa liya’budoon.” (Surat Adh-Dhariyat)
“I did not create jinn and humans Except to worship Me.” (The Winnowing Winds, 51:56)
Then you write the reality of la ilaha illallah, that Allah (AJ) wants to be known. Allah (AJ) wants to be known by the sifat and the attribute that governs this entire reality, sifat al-Wadud. Through the hey and the waw of Allah (AJ), that hey is hidayat, means guided. That Allah (AJ) wants to be known so then whatever He creates from this point on has to be guided to la ilaha illallah.
Allah (AJ) is the Power That Manifests Creation in Reality of Muhammadan RasulAllah ﷺ
The Mawlid an-Nabi ﷺ, for our understanding, only the 12th of Rabi’ Al-Awwal is for the dunya. When did Allah (AJ) create that reality? Beyond understanding. When Allah (AJ) wanted to be known, it brings the hey of hidayat and through my Hu, My unknown ‘He’. ‘Hu’ is He. The ‘He-ness’ of Allah (AJ), the unknown ‘He-ness’ of Allah (AJ) is about to bring the reality of Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ. Not only a physical personality, that’s the smallest of understanding. But the light of Prophet ﷺ in which every light and every creation is going to be manifesting from that ocean. It’s not manifesting from la ilaha illallah. La ilaha illallah is a power and a qudra. There is no sharik (partner), there is nothing like unto Allah (AJ), there is no creation inside that reality. But Allah (AJ) is the power and the might that is going to make everything now manifest in the reality of Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ.
Allah (AJ) Makes Continuous Zikr of Hu to the Meem
By this power of hey waw, by the reality of Hu, Allah (AJ) eternally making a zikr of Hu, Hu into that ocean that begin to manifest and appear as Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ. So, anything in this universe, it is in Bahra al-Muhit, all existing within the meem of Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ. Because the Hu is a continuous, eternal zikr to meem. The rest is going to be just an explanation of every reality. The Hu, eternally is a zikr upon the meem.
﴾إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيماً ﴿٥٦
33:56 – “InnAllaha wa malayikatahu yusalluna ‘alan Nabiyi yaa ayyuhal ladhina aamanu sallu ‘alayhi wa sallimu taslima.” (Surat Al-Ahzab)
“Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet [Muhammad ﷺ]: O you that believe! Send your blessings upon him, and salute him with all respect.” (The Combined Forces, 33:56)
So Muhammadiyun and those whom Allah (AJ) raised in that reality, they understood. They go back all the way. Because the usul is tawhid (oneness). The first of the usul is tawhid (oneness). They become Muhammadiyun and Allah (AJ) make them to have a heart of realities. They go back to that meem and they begin to make the zikr of Hu. ‘Huuuuuuu.’
Mawlana Shah Naqshband (Q) is the Custodian of the Secret of Hu
Awliyaullah (saints) describe that Sultanul Awliya Mawlana Shah Naqshband (Q) is the custodian of that secret. That in that ocean of Hu when Sayyid Abu Yazid al-Bistami (Q) was diving and hearing the zikr of Hu, entered into the realm in which he saw Mawlana Shah Naqshband (Q) making his spiritual nazar (gaze) upon infinite number of pearls. Because they describe – it’s only for us to understand because we have no comprehension from what Allah (AJ) created of our brain. These are analogies for us to understand that in an ocean represents Allah’s (AJ) infinite realities. Their soul swims into the ocean and they saw a pearl. Because the pearl symbolizes a reality that it takes something from this ocean and within it begin to create a jewel, something precious. And Mawlana Shah Naqshband’s (Q) nazar and secret from what Allah (AJ) dressed his soul of a Muhammadan haqaiq (reality), his nazar (gaze) was zikr Hu upon this pearl.
Shaykhs Who Received Their Pearl From Shah Naqshband (Q) Have 12,000 Secrets
And awliyaullah (saints) who achieved this reality and can speak from that reality, they were given their pearl by Mawlana Shah Naqshband (Q). These are not realities taught by somebody’s book. This is not somebody copying and pasting from their shaykh. The shaykh is merely a rocket that takes him and throws him into his reality. And he speaks from what Allah (AJ) gave him of his reality in the Muhammadan haqaiq (reality). He’s not sharing anybody’s reality. He’s not stealing and plagiarizing from other people’s reality.
Naqshbandia tariqah (spiritual path), it’s sign and it’s miracle…, Rifayi [tariqa] they put swords in their head. Naqshbandia miracle is the uloom and the knowledges that are not on a book, not on a page. Not on the internet unless they published it as a reality. But that pearl was given to them from Mawlana Shah Naqshband (Q) and put into their heart and into their chest and they witnessed and saw it. They witnessed the pearl enter into their chest and every reality and uloom ul-awaleen wa ‘l-akhireen’, (knowledges of the beginning and the end) begin to dress upon them. Then they were told by Mawlana Shah Naqshband (Q) that you’ll have up to 12,000 secrets. Most of which, not even one can appear into dunya. Imagine 5, 6, 7, 8, of those haqaiqs (realities) beginning to manifest into dunya. That is the reality of that Hu.
All Atoms in Creation Are Based on the Waw of Wadud and Love
When they talk of the Hu, this hidayat (guidance) that Allah (AJ) not only the guides who bring basic people to Islam or take them to Maqamul Iman (station of faith) These are kamil (perfected), who they achieved Maqamul Ihsan (Station of Excellence). That they saw Allah (AJ) in everything. EVERYTHING is Allah (AJ), they feel Allah’s (AJ) presence in everything! And they begin to see Allah (AJ) seeing in everything.
That ocean of Hu and hidayat and waw, that Allah (AJ) link that Hu is now a description of the meem. And every reality of this meem of Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ. Everything is based on this waw. This whole entire manifestation, we said many times is based on waw, based on love. Not love that you say in the English language. That could mean many things, most of which are not right. Love and wadud means a deep, deep reality. The atom’s world is based on wadud and ishq (love). Every movement, every manifestation, everything that’s appearing as a hologram. All this creation is a hologram, infinite universes all a hologram. If Allah (AJ) gives the order, stop and cut my love, pull wadud, everything stops spinning, everything stops moving, everything collapses into nothing.
Allah (AJ) Wants This Creation to Manifest in Love
This whole of creation is based on sifat al-Wadud. Imagine then if Allah (AJ) dress the servant from wadud and divinely love, which they hold the secret of this manifestation. They hold the secret of ishq and love from the Divinely Presence. Then we begin to understand why these Muhammadiyun, why all these awliyaullah (saints) of the past. Not the ones who focus on business and money and taking people’s money. The awliyaullah of the past who their only focus was on wadud and love. Because they witnessed that love in everything.
When they looked to the flower, they understand that the flower has a love and an ishq for the sun, because of the Muhammadan light that emanating. And out of its love, it reciprocates. Out of its love, it wants to show the love of that Muhammadan light and begin to give a fragrance back. Because of the love affair between the sun and the flower, everybody benefits by its fragrance. Everything benefiting by the fragrance of that reality, the perfume of that reality, the beatific reality of this dunya (material world) is its ishq and its love. Those lights and those realities are all Muhammadiyun because this is an ocean of Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ. All of it is a manifestation of love that Allah (AJ) wants this creation to manifest its love.
Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ is in Need of Allah’s Love and Prophet’s ﷺ Hamd is the Holy Qur’an
And what Allah (AJ) loves is this reality he created of Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ. When we understand this love, then we understand this relationship. That Prophet ﷺ, the reality of Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ is in need, is in need for la ilaha illallah, is in need for the love of Allah (AJ). As soon that love begin to hit Prophet ﷺ, emanate and dress upon Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, begin to reveal the Holy Qur’an like a flower of immense realities. That Prophet ﷺ is like singing the praises of Allah (AJ) known to us as the Holy Qur’an because of the ishq and the love for Allah (AJ).
When Allah (AJ) sends a love and muhabbat (love) upon the heart and the wujud and the soul of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, this is the love relationship. Prophet ﷺ begin to make a hamd (praise). And Allah (AJ) saying he’s Muhamd, my most praised. He’s Ahamd above the malakut (heavenly realm) in his praise. The praise of Prophet ﷺ is the Holy Qur’an.
That Allah (AJ) is in want and love for Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, never in need. But Allah (AJ) wanted this creation to know Allah (AJ). So, Allah (AJ) sends that love to Prophet ﷺ. As a result of that love, Prophet ﷺ begin to manifest all the hamd and all the praisings so that Allah (AJ) will be known. It takes two to tango, it takes two to dance. It takes the sun and the flower to show this ishq (love).
Allah (AJ) Wants to Be Known By the Best of Creation, Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ
Allah (AJ) says, ‘I want to be known.’
كُنْت كَنْزاً مخفيا فَأَحْبَبْت أَنْ أُعْرَفَ؛ فَخَلَقْت خَلْقاً فَعَرَّفْتهمْ بِي فَعَرَفُونِي
“Kuntu kanzan makhfiyya, fa ahbabtu an a’rafa, fa khalaqtu khalqan, fa ‘arraftahum bi fa ‘arafonee.” Hadith Qudsi
Allah (AJ) said, “I was a hidden Treasure then I desired to be known, so I created a creation to which I made Myself known; then they knew Me.”
I’m going to send an immense love to this Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ. As a result, all this creation is manifesting from this love and this hamd (praise) that emanating from the soul of Prophet ﷺ. And Prophet ﷺ is in need of that love from Allah (AJ) and Allah (AJ) is pleased by the manifestation of that love. Now I’ll be known by ‘khuluqul azeem‘ (magnificent character).
﴾وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿٤
68:4 – “Wa innaka la’ala khuluqin ‘azheem.” (Surat Al-Qalam)
“Truly, You (O Muhammad!) are of a magnificent character.” (The Pen, 68:4)
I don’t want to be known by anyone because all of their understanding is low. I want to be known by Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ. It means that the best of creation, khuluqin azeem, the best of character, the ambassador, my khalifa (deputy) that will show the best of example is how I want to be known to this creation. This is a love affair in which Allah (AJ) sends the love and we’re all in need of manifesting that reality. We are all in need because we are carrying the Muhammadan light. We’re in need, ya Rabbi, send for us the reality of la ilaha illallah.
Seek the Love and Muhammadan Haqaiq!
Ya Rabbi, send for us that reality of muhabbat and love that that Hu, that secret is in every atom, in every breath, in every molecule. As soon as we bring that love, we begin to manifest the Muhammadan haqaiqs (realities). That sun begins to hit the flower and the flower begins to send its fragrance and its love. That is the reality of this relationship. The awliyaullah (saints) are responsible in raising their Muhammadan students – that seek love, not characteristics of evilness and badness and jealousy and pride, egoistic desires of power, wealth. But seek the love! Seek the muhabbat, seek the reality in which Allah (AJ) is pleased with.
If you can seek that love, your life becomes like a hummingbird continuously in search of a nectar. And Allah (AJ) may send you a big nectar, a flower in which you can take an immense amount of love. As that love begins to nourish that reality of la ilaha illallah, begin to enter into your Muhammadan RasulAllah ﷺ and your reality becomes powered. But if by bad character, that la ilaha illallah never enters into Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ because its secret is in the waw of wadud. This path is based on love, the characteristics are based on love, the actions are based on love. You have to tell yourself and ask yourself if I’m a loving person, would I do that action? Would I take that action? Is that something that Prophet ﷺ would be pleased with? Let love govern your path. Let the love of the Divine govern the heart. Let the reality of la ilaha illallah govern and nourish the reality of Muhammadun RasulAllah ﷺ. And then the reality of Prophet ﷺ begin to dress you even more and seeks more of that reality and that becomes the secret of fusion.
We pray that Allah (AJ) in these holy nights, coming tonight, tomorrow night, Sunday night, Monday night for the rest of this month, dress us from these lights, bless us from these lights inshaAllah. Wa astaghfirullah Azeem.
